Prayer Celebration To Take Place At Historic Fifth Street School
The Mayor’s Faith Initiative will host a citywide prayer celebration from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Historic Fifth Street School, 401 S. Fourth St. The event will feature keynote speaker David Barton, founder and president of WallBuilders, an organization dedicated to presenting America’s forgotten history and heroes.
The event is intended to promote community-wide unity through peace. All are welcome; no RSVP required. Interested vendors can contact Pastor Michael Hatch at mikehatch@estate.lvcoxmail.com.
This celebration joins leaders from the “City Wide Unity Prayer” group and the Mayor’s Faith Initiative as prayer, services and resources are presented. Attendees will enjoy stage presentations and music as well as networking opportunities with representatives from local organizations. Many of these organizations offer numerous programs and services at a low cost or no cost at all. New relationships will be developed as valuable information is gathered.
In the spring of 2012, more than 120 faith leaders representing 70,000-plus congregants from Las Vegas valley houses of worship responded to the mayor’s invitation to help change the city through faith in action.
