City Of Las Vegas Municipal General Election Early Voting Begins May 27
Get The Free “Vegas Elections” Cell Phone App For Easy Election Information
Early voting for the next Las Vegas Municipal General Election begins Saturday, May 27, and ends Friday, June 9. Citizens residing in the city of Las Vegas who are registered voters may vote at any of the convenient early voting sites or on Election Day at any Las Vegas Vote Center.
The General Election early voting schedule and the list of Election Day vote centers are available online. The last day to register online or in person at the City Clerk’s Office, 495 S. Main St., to vote in this election is Tuesday, May 23.
The city of Las Vegas now offers a free mobile app called “Vegas Elections” that allows voters to see the current candidates, get candidate contact information, access the early voting schedule and early voting locations, locate and get directions to their nearest Election Day vote center, learn about registering to vote, and access the city’s Elections webpage, with more information and maps. Designed by Enterprise Technology, the Vegas Elections app now is available from the online Apple Store and Google Play Store.
Starting with the 2017 municipal elections, vote centers replace traditional Election Day polling locations throughout the Las Vegas jurisdiction and will allow voters to cast their ballots at any vote center location regardless of their residential address. The vote center model gives voters more flexibility to vote, as they are not constrained to a specific polling location and can vote near their home, near their work or at their most easily accessible center. The centers are strategically
placed throughout the city with attention towards ward coverage and ease of use. Vote centers will be open on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The General Election will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2017. Sample ballots will be sent to all registered voters who have not requested to receive their ballots electronically. Residents can check their voter registration at www.clarkcountynv.gov/election.
During early voting and on Election Day, residents living in Wards 2 and 6 can vote for a City Council candidate who would represent their areas. All city of Las Vegas registered voters will have the opportunity to vote for a Municipal Court judge for department 3. City of Las Vegas municipal elections are open and nonpartisan. Candidates’ parties will not be shown on the ballot.
Only voters properly registered within the specific boundaries of the city of Las Vegas may vote in these elections.
Additional information on the 2017 municipal election and candidates is available online at
