Registration For Safekey/IGNITE Before- And After-School Enrichment Programs Begins July 23 For 2018-2019 School Year
Learning Beyond The Bell Starts With City Of Las Vegas Programs
Registration for Safekey and IGNITE before- and after-school enrichment programs, for youth in kindergarten through middle school, begins July 23 and affords students the opportunity to learn beyond the bell.
The Safekey program is offered at 69 Clark County School District elementary schools within the city of Las Vegas. IGNITE is a similar program for teens that is housed in five middle schools in the city.
There is an annual $20 registration fee per participant per account for these programs. The daily cost is $7 for a before-school (A.M.) pass and $10 for an after-school (P.M.) pass. Financial aid applications will be accepted beginning July 16; download the application at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/safekey. Limited financial aid will be available to qualified applicants. Registration, financial aid and enrollment forms can be completed at the Safekey/IGNITE Office, located at 416 N. Seventh St., the Safekey or IGNITE program office at the school your child attends, at many local back-to-school fairs, and at the open house event for your child’s school.
Safekey and IGNITE are recreational enrichment programs outside of school hours, designed for children grades K-5 (Safekey) and grades 6-8 (IGNITE). Daily and weekly scheduled activities include physical fitness, arts and crafts, music, drama, games, reading time, special events, homework time and a nutritional afternoon snack.
Payments can be made one of two ways:
Online at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/safekey, beginning July 23.
In person at the Safekey office, beginning July 23; office hours are Monday through Friday,
7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Safekey and IGNITE operate as pre-paid programs; participants must have a valid pass before they can attend. For financial assistance or for other questions, please contact the Safekey office at 702-229-KIDS (5437) or visit www.lasvegasnevada.gov/safekey. Safekey and IGNITE follow the school district calendar and operate on days that school is in session.
Below is the list of elementary schools in the city of Las Vegas that offer Safekey programs and the middle schools that offer the IGNITE program.
