City Of Las Vegas Will Hold Special Election For Ward 5 Council Seat
Election Scheduled For Tuesday, March 27
The Las Vegas City Council today voted to hold a special election Tuesday, March 27, to fill the vacant Ward 5 City Council seat.
The City Council voted unanimously to hold a special election to complete the term of Ricki Y. Barlow, who resigned in January. By law, the council was required to either call a special election or make an appointment within 30 days of the seat becoming vacant.
Filing for the election will be from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13, and Wednesday, Feb. 14, in the City Clerk’s Office, located on the second floor of City Hall, 495 S. Main St.
Early voting is scheduled for Thursday, March 22, and Friday, March 23. The election results will be canvassed at the Wednesday, April 4, City Council meeting, with the new Ward 5 representative scheduled to be sworn in at the Wednesday, April 18, City Council meeting.
