Chinese New Year is the most important Chinese holiday and is known as “Spring Festival” in China, “Tet New Year” in Vietnam and “Seol-lal” in Korea.
The explosive growth of Chinese New Year in the Desert™ over the past 6 years has led to an expanded format in 2018. Participating venues include: Fashion Show Mall, Grand Canal Shoppes, and Downtown Las Vegas Container Park.
The success of our event has largely been due to the contributions of our generous sponsors and donors who have lent their financial support to this event. We want to thank Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority for championing this annual festival.
Seven years in and Chinese New Year in the Desert™ has grown from just another cultural event to one that is an official state recognized “Nevada 150” event and what Forbes Magazine has called “one of the top 8 places in the United States to celebrate Chinese New Year”.
Our goal is to bring the largest Chinese/Lunar New Year celebration in the US to the great city of Las Vegas. Every year the money we raise has gone towards increasing awareness and educating the community about the Asian American and Pacific Islander cultures as it relates to the annual Lunar New Year celebration.
