Cesar Chavez Day Celebration Features Family Fun, Food And Music
Fourth Annual Event to Be Held At Gary Reese Freedom Park
Everyone is invited to the Fourth Annual Cesar Chavez Day festival on Saturday, March 25
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Gary Reese Freedom Park, located at 850 N. Mojave Road.
The event features food merchants, live music and local vendors at this free event. In
addition, there will be a car show and a Legacy March.
The event is sponsored by the Cesar Chavez Day Las Vegas Committee, the city of Las
Vegas and Ward 3 Councilman Bob Coffin.
Cesar Chavez was a Latino civil rights leader who co-founded the United Farm Workers
Union and practiced peaceful protest to create social justice for the farm workers. Chavez is also known for the quote, “The road to social justice for the farm worker is the road of unionization.”
