LAS VEGAS and INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — Before Hillary Clinton’s first presidential candidacy, Rush Limbaugh slammed Daniel Edwards’s prophetic “Presidential Bust of Hillary Rodham Clinton: The First Woman President of the United States of America” that was displayed at the Museum of Sex in New York in 2006. Limbaugh then critically proclaimed on radio that Clinton’s likeness was “the worst sculpture of anything I have ever seen.” Edwards is now wondering if Limbaugh will like his Trump monument any better. The monument, which claims to be the ‘World’s Largest Participation Trophy’ for Donald Trump’s presidential run will be dedicated November 11th in Las Vegas, surrounded by the Las Vegas skyline which features the Trump Hotel, announces Cory Allen Contemporary Art.
Formerly titled, “RNC Participation Trophy for Donald J. Trump,” now simply, “Trump Trophy,” the heroically scaled bust of Trump is fixed atop a six-foot-tall podium, resembling the Trump Hotel. Trump’s orange hued likeness and sweeping, gold-leafed hair is crowned with the German eagle that was rationalized to be a reference to his German heritage.
“I visited The Arno Breker Museum in Nörvenich, Germany to study the work of Breker, Hitler’s sculptor, to design a sculpture to appear to be an authentic commission by the RNC for Donald Trump to place in front of the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas,” said Daniel Edwards. The RNC contacted the artist after an online announcement, demanding a retraction and apology.
“Trump supporters seeing the Trump Trophy during the initial Las Vegas photoshoot in early October expressed objection to the deep orange depiction of Trump, but not the eagle,” said the artist’s spokesman Cory Allen.
