New Parking Opportunity Available Downtown For First Friday
City Expands Partnership With Downtown Project On Parking Lots
The city of Las Vegas is expanding its partnership with Downtown Project to help create additional parking options downtown by opening another new parking lot east of Las Vegas Boulevard.
Through the partnership, the Downtown Project continues to develop its empty lots into parking areas to support the growing number of visitors attracted by all the development downtown. The city’s Parking Services Division will operate and patrol the new Container Park lot, which opens tomorrow, Aug. 1, at 5 p.m. The parking areas are as follows:
Container Park Lot (directly across 7th Street from the Container Park) between Fremont and Carson
68 spaces
Daytime Metered Parking: $2 per hour, $10 all day
Night/Weekend Metered Parking: $10 Flat Rate
Special Event Parking: Varies from $10 to $30
Gold Spike Lot (northeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Odgen)
76 spaces
Daytime Metered Parking: $2 per hour, $10 all day
Night/Weekend Metered Parking: $10 Flat Rate
Special Event Parking: Varies from $10 to $30
Llama Lot (site of the old Ambassador Hotel) on Ninth & Fremont streets
359 spaces
Metered parking: $1 per hour, $6 all day,
Night/Weekend Metered Parking: $5 flat rate
Monthly parking: $30 per month
Special Event Parking: Varies from $5 to $15
All lots will be open for special event parking for First Friday this month and they will stay open under the terms of the agreement with the city for three years.
