Las Vegas Ward 5 Free Senior Fishing Derby Nov. 3
Lorenzi Park Lake 10 A.M. – 12:30 P.M.
City of Las Vegas Ward 5 Councilman Ricki Y. Barlow invites residents ages 55 and older
to participate in the free Ward 5 Senior Fishing Derby Thursday, Nov. 3, at Lorenzi Park Lake, located at 3333 W. Washington Ave. Registration and fishing pole check-out begins at 10 a.m.
The fishing derby will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by an awards ceremony and
free fish and chips luncheon.
“Come join me as we celebrate a blast from the past with old-school music, fishing and an
outdoor fish fry,” said Councilman Barlow.
The Nevada Department of Wildlife will check out fishing poles to use for free during the
event while supplies last. Lorenzi Park Lake is stocked with trout, catfish and bluegill.
Participants are invited to bring their own fishing gear to use if they have it available. No fishing license will be needed during the event. Those who intend to keep the fish they catch should bring appropriate containers and ice to keep the fish chilled. KCEP Power 88 Radio will provide music for the event.
