Goettl AC opens its doors in Las Vegas; back since brand left in 2008
LAS VEGAS, May 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — Have no fear, Vegas, the Goettl brand has returned thanks to Ken Goodrich! In April 2016, Goettl Air Conditioning opened its doors to service the greater Las Vegas and Henderson area to offer maintenance, repair and replacement.
With the arrival of the Goettl brand, new jobs emerge in the area for local HVAC technicians.
“We plan on hiring 50 new employees in 2016 and expanding to 250 new jobs within the next three years,” said Goodrich, CEO of Goettl. He continued saying, “One of our main initiatives is to hire veterans as well. We really are focused not just on creating jobs, but on creating successful careers. Education and training matter as much as hiring!”
With education being a top priority for Goettl, their motto is to ‘get it done right, the first time.’ This motto translates into the daily training with each of their technicians.
On top of hiring experienced professionals, Goodrich has also created an endowment fund, named the J. Duncan Goodrich Air Conditioning Technology Program. This was inspired by his father.
In addition to this endowment, the Kenneth D. Goodrich CSN Post-9/11 Veteran HVAC scholarship fund to provide graduating veterans the necessary diagnostic tools to begin their career in HVAC. The most recent recipient was Nick Hughes who will be graduating in May.
Goettl Air Conditioning was established in 1939. In 2013, the opportunity for Goodrich to purchase the brand was one he did not want to miss.
“I grew up in Las Vegas and also was trained by my father, Duncan Goodrich, on a Goettl machine,” said Goodrich. “This was an opportunity to honor dad and continue creating careers in a field that I am very passionate about.”
Goettl Air Conditioning has long been a family brand.
As the brand began to see success in Arizona, Goodrich knew next steps were to return the brand to his hometown of Las Vegas.
Not only is their family tradition within the original Goettl brand, but Las Vegas is where Goodrich had a memorable experience with his father as a young boy.
“I was a 10-year-old boy holding a flashlight for my dad while he worked on an air conditioner for a customer,” said Goodrich. “There’s a certain kind of magic that happens when a son holds a flashlight for his father. I held it steady and quiet and dad talked to me while he worked. He said ‘When a person needs help, you respond right away, not when it’s convenient. Always do the right thing, always do what is right!’
“My dad believed in Goettl Air Conditioners so I bought the company!”
