The Vegas Valley Book Festival is seeking volunteers to serve as escorts for guest authors during its annual Festival on Nov. 2. This is a great opportunity to get to know an author personally. It’s a fun, interesting and short assignment. The author-escorts serve as gracious and welcoming ambassadors for our community!
Each author-escort will escort a specific author who will be presenting a program at the Festival to his/her venue, to the Hospitality Suite and to the restrooms, for example. In other words, the job is to make the author feel welcome and to make sure the author gets where he/she needs to be. The author-escort may choose which author he/she would like to escort. Each shift is approximately two hours.
A brief orientation of about 15 – 30 minutes will be offered on Oct. 17 anytime between 5 – 7 p.m. at the Fifth Street School, 401 S. Fourth St.
