City Council Scheduled To Celebrate Cultural Events
City Council To Recognize Black History Month And The Chinese New Year
The Las Vegas City Council is scheduled to celebrate cultural events at the Wednesday, Feb. 18, City Council meeting that will begin following the 8:30 a.m. Redevelopment Agency Meeting in City Hall council chambers, located at 495 S. Main St.
The City Council will celebrate Black History Month. The winners of the annual Black History Month Student Essay contest are scheduled to be recognized. The contest is sponsored by NBA star C.J. Watson, a Las Vegas native. In addition, a group that is active in the community and makes charitable contributions will be recognized.
The City Council will also celebrate the Chinese New Year with a special performance by a local lion dance troupe.
