New Aquatics Classes Starting In January At Pavilion And Municipal Pools
Register Now For Lifeguard Training And Swim Technique Classes
The city of Las Vegas is looking out for your swim safety with upcoming aquatic classes at Municipal Pool, 431 E. Bonanza Road, and Pavilion Pool, 101 S. Pavilion Center Drive.
Municipal Pool is offering “High School Tune-up” classes for students starting Jan. 8-Feb. 20. The tune-up classes are meant to teach and improve swimming techniques and build endurance, by learning how to use a diving block and make flip turns. Students will also learn swim meet etiquette and how a meet is run. Classes are Fridays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. where they will work on strokes and technique, and Saturdays from 9 to 10:30 a.m. where they will work on endurance, starts and turns. The tune-up classes are $4 per visit.
Both the Municipal and Pavilion pools are offering “American Red Cross Lifeguard Training” classes for those 15 years old and up. The training season begins in January on the weekends or nights. Trainees must pass the prerequisites on the first day before they are taught and certified in lifeguard training, CPR/AED and first aid.
For more information on any of these classes or pools, contact the Municipal Pool at 702-229-6309 or Pavilion Pool at 702-229-1488 or visit lasvegasparksandrec.com to sign up!
