City Of Las Vegas Opens Recruitment For 48 AmeriCorps Members
Selected Applicants Will Tutor Or Mentor Students
The city of Las Vegas is recruiting 48 AmeriCorps members for the 2019-2020 academic year. Selected applicants will serve as literacy tutors and success mentors to students in elementary schools.
AmeriCorps members are required to make a nine-month commitment, September 2019 to May 2020, at a city ReInvent School. Applicants must:
Be at least 18 years of age by the program start date;
Speak, read and write English fluently;
Have a high school diploma or high school equivalency; and,
Be a U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident.
Hours and benefits will depend on position. There are 24 positions that will serve 675 hours earning a stipend of up to $5,720.00 and an education award of $2,321.00. The other 24 positions will serve 900 hours earning a stipend of up to $7,600.00 and an education award of $3,047.50
